Congratulations to Mark Rauch of Houston Texas! Mark’s winning ticket was drawn just moments ago on the 2003 Red Corvette Coupe raffle that was limited to only 500 tickets! J.W. Wheaton, who happened to be picking up a new Corvette today, drew the winning ticket #068. Mark was contacted at work via cell phone by NCM team member, Christy Thomas. Mark was directed to the webcam by Christy, where a crowd of excited folks standing by the Red coupe waited for his reaction. “You mean that’s my car?” shouted Mark. Mark has never owned a Corvette, and is very happy to be a new Corvette owner! Congratulations to Mark and thanks to everyone who participated in this exciting raffle.

The five Grand Sport Corvettes, built secretly by Chevrolet engineering legend Zora Arkus-Duntov in 1963, will appear together for the first time in history at the 8th Annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. The event takes place March 9, 2003, on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida.

My first thought was how the Corvette hobby has changed. Twenty years ago, the owner of a hot Corvette might work at a speed shop or perhaps a car dealership or possibly even a gas station.

We mostly think of tuners as specialty performance shops, like Lingenfelter and Doug Rippie. They tweak engines. However, Ken King tweaks interiors. You can call him a tuner - a leather tuner.
